No two people carry tension the same way, which is why a one-routine-fits-all massage rarely solves the problem you came in with. Therapeutic Massage is built around your body on the day you walk in. We start with a short conversation and a look at how you move, so we can find where the restriction actually lives instead of only rubbing the spot that hurts. From there, each session draws on whichever techniques your tissue needs: slow, deep work for chronically tight muscles, myofascial release for restricted connective tissue, and flowing Swedish strokes to warm up the area and calm your nervous system.
Whether you are dealing with a stiff neck from long days at a desk, low back pain that keeps coming back, or tight hips and shoulders from training, this approach gives you focused, hands-on relief. Because the work is tailored, pressure is always adjusted to you. Deep does not have to mean painful, and you will be checked in with throughout the session so the work stays productive rather than something you just have to endure.
As a personal trainer specializing in corrective fitness, I look at massage as one part of a bigger picture. Releasing tight tissue opens a window where your body can move better, and I will share simple stretches or movement tips you can use between visits to keep that progress going. The goal is not just to feel good on the table, but to leave with less pain, more range of motion, and a body that is easier to live in.
Therapeutic Massage is not one technique but a toolbox. Each session blends the methods below based on what your body needs and what you want to get out of the visit.
Slow, sustained pressure that reaches the deeper layers of muscle. Ideal for chronic knots, overworked muscle groups, and long-standing tightness that lighter massage does not touch.
Gentle, sustained stretching of the fascia, the connective tissue that wraps every muscle. Helps free up areas that feel stuck or restricted and can ease pain that seems to travel from one spot to another.
Long, flowing strokes that warm up tissue, improve circulation, and calm the nervous system. Used to prepare the body for deeper work and to leave you relaxed rather than sore.
Focused time on the one or two areas bothering you most, such as the neck, shoulders, low back, or hips, including trigger point work to release tender, referring knots.
Every session is focused, communicative, and built around your comfort. Here is what you can look forward to.
We start by talking through what is bothering you, any injuries or health conditions, and what you want to get out of the session, then check how you move.
Pressure is adjusted to you throughout the session. Speak up any time you want more, less, or a different focus. Productive discomfort is fine; sharp pain is not.
You undress to your comfort level and stay covered with a sheet the entire time. Only the area being worked on is uncovered.
Some soreness for a day or two after deep work is normal. You will leave with hydration and stretching tips to help your body hold on to the changes.
Therapeutic Massage is a good fit for anyone who wants more than a relaxation rub and has a specific problem they want addressed.
