Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions: Personal Training

No. Every program is built around your current fitness level. We start where you are and scale each exercise so you are challenged safely, whether you are brand new to training or coming back after time off.

We evaluate your posture, gait, movement and strength to find the areas that need the most attention. If you would like, we can also include a body composition assessment. You leave with a clear picture of where to start.

Corrective fitness looks for the movement imbalances and compensations behind aches and injuries, then uses targeted exercise to restore proper alignment and help you move without pain. It is my specialty as a NASM certified personal trainer.

In most cases, yes. My own path into training started with a serious knee injury, and working around and through injuries is a big part of what I do. If you are under a doctor's care for an injury, please get clearance first and let me know so we can plan around it.

1-on-1 training is fully customized coaching with my attention on you the whole session. Group training gives you expert, form-focused coaching in a high-energy group setting at a more affordable rate.

Comfortable clothes you can move in, athletic shoes and a water bottle.

Yes. Clients can follow their workouts in the 417 Movement Project workout app. See Connect the Workout App for setup steps on iPhone and Android.

I work with clients in Springfield, MO and the surrounding area. Rates depend on the service and how often you train. Text (417) 501-4627 or use the contact form for current pricing and availability.

Common Questions: Massage

For targeted pain relief, start with Therapeutic Massage. For stretching and mobility, try Thai Massage. For a gentle approach, Bowen Therapy or Lymphatic Drainage. Cupping, Gua Sha and KT Tape can be added to a session. If you are not sure, just ask and we will choose together.

Yes. I am a licensed massage therapist and a NASM certified personal trainer specializing in corrective fitness.

It depends on the service. Thai Massage is done fully clothed on a floor mat, and Bowen Therapy can be done through light, loose clothing. For oil-based massage you undress only to your comfort level and stay covered with a sheet the entire time.

It should not. Deep work can feel intense, but pressure is always adjusted to you and you can ask for more or less at any time. Productive discomfort is fine; sharp pain is not.

Thai Massage is offered in 90-minute, 2-hour and 3-hour sessions. Other services vary, and cupping, gua sha and KT tape are often added on to a massage. Get in touch and we will find the right length for your goals.

Cupping can leave round, red to purple marks, and gua sha often leaves temporary redness. Both are expected, are not usually painful and typically fade within a few days to a week.

Please check with your healthcare provider first if you have a recent injury or surgery, a blood clotting or bleeding disorder, take blood thinners, are pregnant, or have a skin condition. Lymphatic drainage is offered only for people with a healthy lymphatic system; if you have medical lymphedema, I can refer you to a clinical specialist.

Drink plenty of water and keep moving gently. Some soreness for a day or two after deep work is normal, and I will share stretches or movement tips to help the results last.
